Proofs & Artwork Policy
Last updated 25 September 2026
Every SLAPS sticker is made from artwork you send us. This policy explains how we handle your artwork, how our free proofs work, what you approve when you approve a proof, and what happens if something goes wrong. It forms part of our Terms. Where the Terms and this policy differ on artwork or proofs, this policy applies. It works alongside our Returns & Refund Policy and Privacy Policy.
SLAPS is operated by Nikolaos Margaritis (doing business as SLAPS), Filippou 86, 54635 Thessaloniki, Greece. You can reach us at info@slaps.cc.
In short
- A member of our team checks every file and prepares it for print.
- You get a free digital proof by email for every order, usually within 1 business day.
- Changes to your proof are free, as many times as you need.
- We never print anything you haven’t approved. If you don’t answer, your order waits.
- You can cancel for a full refund at any time before you approve your proof. We send the refund within 7 business days.
- We print exactly what you approve, so please check your proof carefully.
- Screens can’t show real printed colour, so the Studio preview and the digital proof show your design, layout and cut, and colours only approximately.
- You keep all rights to your artwork, and you confirm you are allowed to print it. You are responsible if it turns out you weren’t.
1. Words we use
- Artwork means the file or files you upload for your order. Your original file is the file exactly as you uploaded it.
- Studio preview means the live picture of your sticker in our Sticker Studio, including any background you remove there. It is a simulation to help you choose. It is not a proof and not a print file.
- Proof means the digital image or PDF our team prepares from your original file and sends you before printing. It shows how your stickers will be printed and cut.
- Approval means your confirmation that a proof is correct and may be printed.
- Business day means Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Greece.
2. Your artwork
2.1 Files we accept
We accept AI, EPS, PDF, SVG, PNG, JPG and WebP files up to 50 MB each. Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF, SVG) give the sharpest result. Raster files (PNG, JPG, WebP) should be at least 300 DPI at the final print size. See our artwork guide for tips on colour, bleed and safe margins.
2.2 You confirm you have the right to print your artwork
We print what our customers send us, and we cannot check who owns every design. So, each time you upload artwork or place an order, you confirm and guarantee to us that:
- you created the artwork yourself, or you have a valid licence or written permission from the owner to reproduce it as stickers, in the quantity you are ordering;
- printing it and using the stickers does not infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, design rights, image rights or privacy. This includes logos, brand names, characters, artwork by other artists, photographs of people, and material you found online;
- the artwork is not unlawful, defamatory, hateful, violent, sexually explicit or discriminatory;
- everything you tell us about the artwork and your rights to it is true.
Finding an image online does not mean you may print it. Brand logos, band and team names, cartoon and game characters, and other people’s art are almost always protected. If you aren’t sure you are allowed to print something, please ask the owner before you order.
You are solely responsible for your artwork and for how you use the stickers. If you break these promises and a third party makes a claim against us, you agree to cover our losses, damages, costs and reasonable legal fees arising from that claim, as far as the law allows. You also agree to help us deal with the claim, for example by showing us your licence or permission.
We may ask you to show that you have the rights to your artwork. We may pause an order while we wait for proof. If you cannot show that you have the rights, or if we reasonably believe the artwork infringes someone else’s rights, we may cancel the order. If we cancel before production, you receive a full refund within 7 business days. If the artwork breaches this section and we only find out after production has started, we may keep the cost of the work already done.
You keep all rights to your artwork. You give us permission to use it only to prepare your proofs, print and deliver your order, handle reorders and support requests, and meet our legal obligations. We will never sell your artwork. We will never use it in our marketing or show it publicly without your written permission.
Before production, we may refuse an order, with a full refund, if the artwork is unlawful, infringes someone else’s rights, or is hateful, violent, sexually explicit or discriminatory. We may also do so if we reasonably believe printing it would expose us or others to legal risk.
2.3 We print from your original file
We always prepare your stickers from your original file, never from a screenshot or preview. Anything you do in the Studio preview, such as removing a background, tells our team what you want. Our team then recreates it properly on your original file and shows you the result in your proof.
2.4 If you believe we are printing your work without permission
If you own a design and believe someone has ordered it from us without your permission, email info@slaps.cc. Please include your contact details, the work you own, why you believe it is being used without permission, and any order or design details you have. We will look into it promptly. Where appropriate, we will pause or cancel the orders involved.
3. The Studio preview
The Studio preview is a digital simulation. It gives you a close idea of shape, size, material and finish, but it is not a photo of your sticker, and your stickers will not look exactly like it. In particular, colours, the brightness of white, and holographic, glitter and mirror effects will look different on your stickers than on your screen. Section 9 explains why. The preview is not a proof. What we print is set by the proof you approve.
4. How we check and prepare your artwork
After you order, a member of our team checks your file and prepares it for print. Without asking you first, we may:
- set up the cut line, border, bleed and safe margins;
- convert colours to our print profile;
- fix small technical issues, such as stray pixels near the cut line or a slightly uneven background.
We carry out reasonable instructions you give us in your order notes or in the Studio, for example removing a background or keeping a white outline. Every visible change we make appears in your proof, so you can see it before anything is printed.
If we find a problem we cannot fix without changing your design, we point it out in your proof and suggest options. Examples include a low-resolution image, text too small to print clearly, or a detail thinner than we can cut.
Preparing your artwork is included in the price. Creating new artwork or redesigning yours is not included. If a request goes beyond preparing your file, we will tell you before doing anything.
4.1 Through-cuts
A through-cut is a hole cut all the way through the sticker, for example the centre of a letter. We offer through-cuts where they are safe to produce. Very small or narrow cut-outs, or ones close to the edge, can tear, fall out or weaken the sticker. In those cases we suggest an alternative in your proof, such as printing the area instead of cutting it, or leaving it clear on transparent material.
5. Your free proof
Every order includes a free digital proof. We email it to the address on your order, usually within 1 business day of your order being paid. You can also see it at any time in your account under My Account → Orders, or through the link in our email.
Please check your proof carefully before approving it:
- spelling, numbers, names and contact details;
- layout, and what is and is not included in the design;
- size, shape and where the cut line goes;
- material, finish and quantity;
- that every change you asked for has been made.
Your proof is also a digital image on a screen. It confirms the content, layout, size and cut of your stickers exactly. It shows colours only approximately, for the reasons in section 9. If exact colour matters to you, tell us before you approve, and we will advise you.
6. Approving your proof
You approve a proof by pressing Approve and print on the proof page and confirming that you have checked it. You can also approve by replying to our proof email with a clear written approval. If you approve by phone, we will confirm it back to you by email before printing.
When you approve a proof:
- we print your stickers exactly as shown in that proof;
- your order goes into production and can no longer be changed or cancelled;
- you accept responsibility for anything visible in the approved proof, such as a spelling mistake or a missing element;
- you confirm that you understand the printed colours may differ slightly from what you saw on screen, as explained in section 9.
We keep a record of every proof we send and every answer you give, including the proof version, the date and time, and how it was given. We use this record to make sure we print the right version and to resolve any questions later.
7. Changes
Until you approve, you can ask for changes as many times as you need, free of charge. Press Request changes on the proof page, or reply to our email, and tell us what to change. We will send you an updated proof.
Changes means adjustments to the artwork you sent us, for example removing a background, moving or resizing elements, changing the border, or fixing a mistake. Replacing your artwork with a different design is a new order. Just let us know, and we will cancel the current order with a full refund, or update it where that is simple to do.
Once a proof is approved, it can no longer be changed.
8. If you don’t answer
We never print anything without your approval. If you don’t answer a proof, your order stays on hold, and we send you reminders 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 days after the proof. Your order remains on hold until you approve it, ask for changes or cancel it.
Our production and delivery times start from the day you approve your proof. Any time an order spends waiting for approval moves its delivery date back by the same amount.
9. Colour, material and cutting
Why a screen can never show exactly what you will get. Your screen makes colour by shining red, green and blue light (RGB). We print with cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink (CMYK) onto a physical surface that reflects the light around it. Light and ink simply cannot produce all the same colours. Every screen also shows colour differently, depending on its brightness, settings, calibration and the room you’re in. So:
- neither the Studio preview nor your digital proof can show the exact colours of your printed stickers;
- very bright or saturated screen colours (electric blues, vivid greens, neons, pure RGB red) can print noticeably less vivid, because ink cannot reach them;
- RGB files are converted to CMYK for printing, which can shift some colours slightly. You get the most predictable result by sending CMYK artwork;
- the same design can look slightly different on different materials, finishes and print runs.
These differences are a normal part of printing and are not a defect. If exact colour matters, for example a brand colour, include the CMYK or Pantone values in your order notes. We will match them as closely as our process allows and tell you in your proof if a colour cannot be reached.
- Colour. See above: the printed result is the reference, not the screen.
- Specialty materials. Holographic, glitter and mirror materials change with light and viewing angle, so they look different in person than on screen. This is part of their character, not a defect.
- Cutting. Die-cutting has small, normal tolerances in where the cut sits relative to the print. That is why we add a border and keep important details a little inside the cut line.
10. Cancelling your order
You can cancel your order at any time before you approve your proof, and we will refund you in full, to your original payment method, within 7 business days of the cancellation. Just email info@slaps.cc with your order number.
Once you approve your proof, we start making your stickers to your specifications, and the order can no longer be cancelled. Under Article 16(c) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU, goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised are not covered by the 14-day right of withdrawal.
11. If something is wrong with your stickers
If your stickers are defective or damaged, or do not match the proof you approved, we will reprint them or refund you. The approved proof is how we tell a printing error from a design that was approved as it was. Please contact us at info@slaps.cc with your order number and clear photos, as explained in our Returns & Refund Policy. Refunds are sent within 7 business days of approving your claim.
Mistakes that were visible in a proof you approved are not a printing defect. Still, get in touch, and we will always try to help, for example with a discounted reprint.
Nothing in this policy limits your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights where goods are defective or not as described.
12. Reorders
If you reorder a design whose proof you have already approved, without changes, we print it from the file you approved, and no new proof is needed. If you change anything that affects how the design prints or is cut, we will send you a new proof first.
13. How long we keep your files
We keep your original files, proofs and the record of your approvals for as long as we need them. That means to complete your order, make reorders possible, handle any question or claim, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. After that, we delete them. You can ask us to delete your artwork sooner by emailing info@slaps.cc, unless we must keep it by law or for an open claim. For how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
14. Business customers
Business customers go through the same proof process. The consumer rights described in this policy apply to consumers. For regular reorders, business customers can ask us to agree in writing on a faster process, such as printing repeat orders of an approved design without a new proof.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
16. Contact
